F1. Get clear on packaging numbers

F. Packaging transitionpriority: highenergy: heavy

Loans outstanding, monthly bleed, asset base, exposure. Numbers only — no decisions yet.

Origin

Not in Dishant's list. First sub-step of F, named because clarity must precede any decision.

Objective

Produce a written, accurate picture of where the packaging business actually stands financially. No decisions yet. Just clarity.

Why this is first

Dishant carries a story about the business (it loses money, loans trap it, CA can't cover). Story is mostly true but probably has hidden specifics that change the answer. Decisions made before this clarity will be wrong.

What 'clear' means

  1. Loan structure — total outstanding, monthly EMI, interest rate, secured against what
  2. Monthly bleed — what does running it actually cost per month, all-in
  3. Asset base — machinery, premises, receivables; fire-sale value vs orderly sale
  4. Exposure — who else (partners, family, personal guarantees) is on the hook
  5. Survival math — if production = zero (no revenue, no fresh losses), how long can current cash + collections service the loans before default

Approach

Not in one sitting. One sub-step per week, on a day Dishant has bandwidth. Heavy energy.

Notes

2026-05-17 — The question keeps surfacing in planning chats

Dishant asked himself in a planning chat: "I may be wasting time on meeting non-productive people." The question that sits underneath that one is specifically about the packaging business. In Week 2 he spent two days on packaging — one on machinery setup at the factory, one on a 300 km trip to a prospect in Aligarh — against five days in which the CA-network side generated one closed deal and multiple pipeline opportunities. F1 exists to answer this question. Until F1 is done, the "am I wasting time on packaging?" question has no factual home. It keeps surfacing in random chats and dissolving without resolution. That's the cost of not doing F1. Flagging here so when non-travel weeks resume, F1 is recognised as high-priority — not because packaging is the most urgent module, but because the uncertainty about packaging is consuming planning bandwidth across every other agenda. Not now. Travel weeks are travel weeks. But first non-travel week, F1's first step is on the table. To be added as the work proceeds.
